Kids in Nepal

I apologise, but initially the events in Haiti, as you can imagine, delayed this page and now the ongoing havoc we have seen Mother Nature unleash around the World has kept Plan rather busy.
Plan are doing some amazing things in Haiti. I would encourage you to have a look at:

The bit I found the most amazing is the Child Friendly Spaces. Plan sets up safe areas usually chosen with the community so that children have a place they can go to play, relax and express what they are feeling about the disaster. They play games, draw, do sport and then when the time is right can begin learning activities like they would be doing at school. It helps them get over the stress of the situation and also means adults can be there if specific children are finding it hard and need extra attention. Often the spaces are in a big tent, but they can be anywhere that is safe and sheltered from the weather.  Parents and older children can help out or simply drop the children off for a couple of hours, knowing they will be cared for, and then can get on with chores and rebuilding. Children with no caregivers can also be involved in the games and Plan is working to support these children as well.
